What is thyroid Tumours?

Thyroid tumors are growths that develop in the thyroid gland, located at the base of your neck. These tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). The thyroid gland produces hormones that regulate your metabolism, heart rate, and body temperature, making its health vital to overall well-being.

Symptoms of Tongue Cancer

  • Common symptoms include:

    • A noticeable lump in the neck
    • Difficulty swallowing or breathing
    • Hoarseness or changes in voice
    • Persistent cough not related to a cold
    • Swelling or pain in the neck

Treatment Options

  • Surgery: Removal of part or all of the thyroid gland.
  • Radioactive Iodine Therapy: Used primarily for certain types of thyroid cancer.
  • Thyroid Hormone Therapy: To replace or suppress hormone production post-surgery.
  • External Radiation Therapy: For advanced or inoperable tumors.
  • Chemotherapy: Rarely used but an option for aggressive cancers.
